My last 2 experiences with the office staff and office supervisor in Dr. Stephanie Van's office for Feb 23 and March 15, 2024. Absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE or call back from office supervisor.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had a virtual appt scheduled with Dr. Stephanie Van on Feb 23rd at 3:20 p.m.

Never received a confirmation or call or an apology. However, the office receptionist put me down for a "No Show" and tried to bill my insurance. I called on the 24th of February to schedule an in-person appt. for Friday, March 15th at 10 a.m.

and me and my husband arrive and the receptionist does not have an appt for me. My husband and I both took the day off from our jobs. The lady who has seen Dr. Van for 4 years told me this has happened to her twice as well.

The office staff and supervisor need to be accountable for NOT doing their Jobs! Now I have to find a doctor to get some prescriptions refilled that I needed. This war on people needs to cease and desist. God is going to rectify this injustice on the Christian White hard working peopleCusCus.

Tiffany was supposed to call us back with an alternative and never did! Her phone # 433-310-****. She has caller ID and has not returned our calls. Two other patients sitting in the waiting room complained to us about the receptionist being very slow.

She can only do one process or task at a time. At no point in time did either ever apologize that we drove an hour for the appointment. My prayer is the hand of God will address this and he is taking copious notes for correction!

Please pray for the injustices in this Country against people who are trying to be good and the evil ones continue, but they will loose in the End. Good day.

Racism, discrimination, unprofessional, corrupt security and administration

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

What John Hopkins has done to my family will not be forgotten.

I will tell everyone who will listen my experience with racists and unprofessional ignorant employees you have at John Hopkins on Orleans St.

My sister Jennifer George was in Cardiac Arrest for at least 6 minutes the paramedics said that they knew of and in a coma for several days. Me, my mother and my wife rushed to the hospital the day she was accepted at a experimental study that tested cold temperature on patients who experience cardiac arrest and in a coma. From day 1 I have been recording my sister and how my family has coped with her battling for her life. Two weeks in I have uncovered so many unbelievable things going on. The wild thing is when I started recording it was to help my sister. It quickly transformed into putting together the pieces of a bigger puzzle, the abuse, racism and discrimination of my sister and her new disability.

In the beginning before she started talking I thought she was lucky to be in a great hospital and every nurse I met was nice. I wanted my sister to know I loved her and coming out of the study she was regularly shivering and cold. I wanted to make her as comfortable as possible so I purchased my sister several outfits of clothing with tags still on (still have receipts). I left them at the hospital without any concern. While me, my mother and wife was at home she began having behavioral problems the staff at the hospital didn't like. They regularly called my mom to ask her to come down to the hospital. It all started when she insisted on leaving. I don't know exactly what happened behind the scenes. Security was brought in, arguments happened then racists, hate and discrimination began. Because she wanted to leave, security put her on elopement status and by policy a security staff had to sit at her door all day. This obviously made them angry. With sick desire to hurt someone with disabilities they restricted her having clothes to leave in and instead of properly locking away her clothes, the clothes were stolen. My sister is Incapacitated, shes confused, she has brain damage and almost non existent short term memory. She doesnt remember me buying them and security thought they could get away with it because of her disability. **We have called and asked to pickup her clothes and that we will provide receipts for them. Security refused and told us only a nurse can call and get them, knowing we cant do that after being banned. The day they took Jennifers clothes and moved her into another room we came around the time she just went into a new room. My mother asked to see a nurse and doctor to talk to them. So another nurse comes around and we ask her is Jennifers nurse coming soon, because we were running short on time. The nurse tells us Jennifers nurse told her she already talked to us. Me and my mom look at each other and we had to look very confused. I tell the nurse aint nobody come see us. Then the nurse kinda laughs and tells us she dont know why Jennifers nurse told her that. But she said a doctor will be coming soon. We wait and were at the hospital a hour longer than usual just waiting to talk to someone. (I suspect this was the day they stole her clothes because Jennifer was wearing purple and none of her new clothes. I think she avoided us so she couldnt get questioned on the missing clothing). They starved her for over a week. They kept saying day after day she had a medical issue that prevented her ability to eat. I tried to bring in Lemon Glycerin swab sticks and flavored swab sticks for her out of desperation because I could see how much she was suffering. When I approached the nurse before we left for the day, I asked her if it would be okay to give to her the swabs. The nurse started telling me how bad Jennifer was acting and that she stole a soup. Something about her throwing the soup or at a nurse. (I heard 5 versions of this story) the nurse went on about her behavior. I reminded the nurse of her condition and pleaded. I told the nurse she shouldnt be making decisions based on bad behavior because Jennifer isnt herself. The nurse says absolutely not, and suggested Jennifer would eat them. Magically they knew the day before she was going to be allowed to eat and told us she was going to pass some swallowing test before she took it. When she was allowed to eat they gave her the regular menu instead of the special diet menu to torture her. I have a nurse admitting they do not remind Jennifer when to order food even knowing she has no short term memory. Cafeteria refused to send her dinner one night knowing Jennifer didnt get dinner and knowing her disability they would get away with not feeding her.

The day she was allowed to eat for the first time in over a week she had some unexplained medical issue with her hands. She couldnt use her hands to eat the food because they became cramped and stiff. I suspect someone who has the ability to give her medication was mad they were going to feed her and did something to her. I will look into this soon when I get better access (shortly).

Doctors and nurses contradicting each other with all these diagnoses of Jennifers health problems. Nobody seems to tell the same story and its bazaar. Example, a nurse calls my mother and tells her one of the reasons she cant eat is because they found some white growth they havent identified on the other side of Jennifers throat, the opposite side of the injury the hospital did to her vocal cords shoving a breathing tube down her throat(she got pneumonia and couldn't talk for the first week). This put my mom on edge and fearful her daughter may have got cancer. She was so worried, my mom talked about it for several days until one day while visiting Jennifer a doctor comes in and says they are waiting to do a test which then my mom questions if they have got the results back for the growth in her throat. The doctor looks confused and says he dont know anything about that. She explained thats what a nurse told her. He said the test has nothing to do with swallowing, it was for her brain. When questioned further, the doctor says its the first he have heard of this and will look into it.

My mother found getting any information on Jennifer that was accurate was getting harder. So we printed out a form to get proxy access to Jennifers MyChart. We brought it to the hospital and asked to see a doctor. He tells us that being that my mother already is called to make decisions on her treatment, just to submit a request through a new MyChart account or My MyChart account and that we didnt need a form. So he literally walks away with the form we printed to get access. I dont know if it was accidental to walk away with the paper, that was kinda weird but we did try to submit for access without the form and received a email denying access because we didnt provide the proper documentation.

One day I asked a head white nurse if I could goto the cafeteria after they refused to feed her. I wanted to get her some food based on her puree diet. I had the puree diet menu so I went and got her soup. I documented on camera that when I got back upstairs I bet if that white nurse wasnt around they would refuse to let me give her the food. Knowing this I got a soup of each kind and two chocolate milks. I get back and that nurse was no longer around, and I was told by two black nurses that she couldnt have the soups. I told them I have the diet menu and know they are full of *** and showed them the exact soups they bring her. They said the soups they bring her are specially prepared. So I refused to accept that and told them I already got permission and waited until a white nurse that was a higher rank to approve it, then I walked away allowing my sister to eat.

My sister rolled up a dollar bill my mother gave her the day before (actually $3) and used another to crush some pill (or whatever) and said she was doing suboxone. It was odd but I laughed along, my mother was telling her to lift her tongue because suboxone gets taken under the tongue. While still playing I told my sister she was full of *** but still wondered where she was going with it. All the sudden security at the door acted like she had real drugs. I was confused and til this point I didnt realize the scope of what was going on with their hatred of Jennifer. Security should be well trained to know what drugs look like and trained to handle a situation like that. The hatred for Jennifer was so large that they hated that her family visited her every day. This was their chance to feel the power and get what they want at the same time even if it meant exaggerating a situation and hurting a family for no reason. At a time when a patient and family needs each other they pull this act to everyone. They in front of my mother tell her she has been bringing in drugs this entire time. They made my mother cry. My sister got defensive for them saying these things about us and got confrontational. A female security staff that wouldnt tell me her name and turned their name tag to their chest so it couldnt be read got in my sisters face and yelled you aint going to do anything. I told them I had the entire visit recorded and they refused to see it. They searched us and kicked us out of the hospital. My mother cried the entire night while I made calls to lawyers. I made calls to administration and honestly I cant believe I expected more. I got someone asking me what my sister did to make the security staff get in her face. I cant comprehend a administrator saying Jennifer was in the wrong not the security staff. We are talking about a patient that has severe brain damage. The administrator tells me she will try and get Jennifer to call us because we were so worried for her safety. The call from my sister never came.

With the world spinning, fearful, stressed and worried that Jennifer was suffering my step-father calls the hospital asking to speak to Jennifer. They tell him she was given a opportunity to call us but unfortunately she wasnt able to reach us, they tell us she tried to call us but nobody picked up. Nobody has any missed calls and we were all waiting all night for a call from Jennifer.

We come up the next day and security puts a no visit restriction on Jennifer. My mother refuses to leave in tears so the doctor comes when security tries to make us leave. The doctor tells us she will allow my mom only to visit and to wait in the family room. Me and my wife was waiting for a update on Jennifer in the family room. Security waits until my mom and doctor goes to Jennifers room then they come to the family room telling me and my wife we have to leave. We told them my mother has disabilities and she cant walk by herself. I cant believe they just keep bothering us and I tell the security female staff the doctor told us to wait there. The female security staff lies and says the doctor told her to remove us from the hospital. (Later my mom confirms she was with the doctor and this never happened) On the elevator I say to one of the female security staff how does it feel to hurt our family. She replies yall are nothing but white trash then shrugs her shoulders. They throw us out the first doors to the outside, nowhere near the garage where my car is parked. Security refused to let us leave as a family and refused letting me get to the garage using the bridge. They force me and my wife to walk in the cold around the building with no idea if we could find my mom or the car. They tell my mother as shes leaving that when the drug test comes back and if the results show nothing this restriction will go away and its all for the good of security.

The next day the results come back and they show no drugs. They tell my mother nothing has changed, we are not allowed to see our disabled sister because it was possible security stopped Jennifer before she could consume it. They claim Brian George, her half brother has brought her in drugs in the past which is hilarious because we all know we were the ones to put Brian George on the restricted visit list to Jennifer because we suspected he gave her bad drugs and put her there. They dont know this and tried to make up him bringing in drugs because him being restricted backs up that story.

I came and visited my sister every day for two weeks for at least 1 hour a day and I recorded her progress the entire visit. Every thing I have wrote above can be backed up with proof that was recorded as a by product of recording Jennifer during the visits. I became scared for her safety and for that reason toward the last couple days the recorder kept rolling to get clues of what exactly was going on with security, nurses and even doctors when it came to treating Jennifer. What I got is shocking to say the least and this should never happen to any family who has a family member being treated.

Finding anyone to go-to battle with this corrupt hospital has been difficult. If your interested in the facts and feel you can help please contact me.

Only interested in research, not patient care!

RImagine not one, but four doctors constantly cancelling appointments. They have been paid in full in the past, but suddenly because they dont need me for their current research projects Im being kicked to the curb. One only wants to work from home, one has cancelled 3 consecutive appointments, one cancelled two. Guess what adios Hopkins, dont call me, and I promise I wont call you. I came for a heart procedure, left with a new injury.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Johns Hopkins Hospital - I came for a heart procedure, left with a new injury.

I came for a heart ablation on 8/14/20. Was told I'd be sedated, no anesthesia, no throat tube.

I wake up at 2:30pm complaining of excruciating throat pain. They say the ENT person was coming. Meanwhile, swallowing &;;;;; talking is extremely painful & I'm gargling fluid in my throat. At 7pm the ENT person arrives.

He checks my throat & says my uvula is unusually swollen & there is bruising. He then says he can't do anything & it will heal by itself - & leaves. Moments later I begin coughing & feel fluid coming out it of my throat. I cough into a urinal & see a bloody piece of sticky flesh in the container.

I became livid. I screamed for the doctor to return. He returns & calls the ENT back. After the ENT admitted to what he told me, it then came out that something was placed in my nose (down my throat) during the procedure & it caused the throat damage & severe bleeding.

I asked why I wasn't warned about this risk or even asked so that I could agree or disagree to it. There was awkward silence. Suddenly the ENT recommended steroids, lozenges, & medicated throat spray - also suggesting that I be kept overnight to observe my throat. I suffered in agony gargling my own blood for over 5hrs.

That is unacceptable. Something was placed in my nose/throat with my knowledge or consent & I was severely injured. Unacceptable. Due to my outburst of anger a guard was placed outside of my recovery area.

This man fell asleep, snored, & made it impossible for me to rest. I have a video recording of this, as a medical emergency could've taken place & he was literally unconscious. Unacceptable. When I was taken to a room for the night, this same guard was asked to watch me through a window from the hallway.

I immediately asked for a security supervisor stating that I did not feel safe. When the supervisor arrived I showed the video as proof of why I feared for my safety. He agreed to have someone else watch me & he did. Now due to the discomfort & weirdness of being watched thru a window, I didn't sleep at all.

Thru the night I wore a heart monitor. I experienced rapid heart beats but the monitor never reacted. At 2:30am I called to have the monitor removed. I asked the nurse why no one had checked my vitals since I arrived to the room.

She checked the computer which said my vitals were last checked around 8:30pm. I then asked my vitals should've been checked between 8:30pm & 2:30am ? Again, awkward silence. I also had to remind her of my usual meds that needed to be taken including my bipolar medication.

Had I not mentioned it, I wouldn't have received them. Ball dropped again. So as I suffer they the night morning finally arrives. I had not slept.

Breakfast comes & I feel like a zoo animal being watched or a death row inmate eating his last meal. To prevent further humiliation I ate my breakfast in the bathroom just to have some privacy. After eating I was angry & demanded my discharge papers so I could leave. When they arrived, all the prescriptions for my throat were listed but there was no mention of my new throat injury.

I demanded that the papers be redone correctly as I felt that the details about my throat were intentionally omitted. I g pi t the correct paperwork & left immediately. Who is culpable for my injury ? What is my pain & suffering worth ?

A letter from patient care saying "we are investigating but can't give you any details" is unacceptable. I want to be heard. I want to be made whole. I do not want anyone else to experience the humiliation & unprofessionalism that I did.

I'm informing my attorney & any local news stations that will listen to me.

I will not go away or be ignored AGAIN. I promise.

JHH neglected my husband, a bladder cancer patient. If they had performed bladder surgery when he first went to them (February 2019), he would have survived.

They neglected him and made him suffer even after he was hospitalized there. They hurt him badly every time they performed CBI. Then they sent him home.

Abandoned by JHH, we tried to get help elsewhere, but it was too late. He died in July 2019.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your husband. There's really no way to console someone who has suffered such a loss and feeling that he should have received more and better care is an unfortunate lingering issue which will never permit full closure.

Neither can you be sure that surgery would have been a successful alternative. It's an awful situation any way you look at it with no resolution possible since he's gone.

Lack of patient care

I had surgery at JH Baltimore, and was an in patient for 5 days. The lack of patient care, particularly on night shift, is appalling. I was given napkins to use instead of toilet paper, a full commode sat in my room all night until day shift came in and emptied it. The call button was useless because no one ever came. I was not allowed visitors due to covid 19 so I was on my own . Had to get to the bathroom three hours after surgery by myself , because again no one responded to call button. Night shift never changed my sheets after I lost control of my bowels. So my sheets were soiled with *** from 3am and werent changed until 9am on day shift. The lack of care and respect for patients , especially by night shift, I would never have believed unless I experienced it for myself!
